She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Mears and Freeda Quinn Thigpen. She is survived by: her daughters, Connie Mercer Bolda and Karen Mercer Benson; her sister Gwendolyn Thigpen Huffman; her grandson Joey Rouse; her husband Norman Mercer; her children, Kaye Mercer Creech (Jackie) and Don Mercer; and her sister Dorothy Thigpen Johnston.
