He was predeceased by: his parents, Wayne Propst and Lexie Leatherman Propst; his wife Pauline; his son Dennis; and his brothers, Don, Charlie Hoke, Calvin and Clinton Venson Propst.

He is survived by: his daughter Kathy Bogue (Robert) of California; and his grandchildren, Daryl Johnson, Sarah Johnson, Kristelle Cole and Robert Cole. He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
