He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Stancil and Evelyn Stancil; and his siblings, Peggy Stancil Bagwell and Joseph Donald Stancil. He is survived by: his wife Susan Bumbarger Stancil; his sisters, Joan Stancil Potter and Anne Stancil Byrd; his siblings-in-law, Judy Mason Stancil, Judy Bumbarger Allen and Jack Allen; and his nieces and nephews, Cari Mercer (Sean), Wanda Lanier (Tracy), Jodi Fogel (Jimmy), Glenn Hunt (Herman), Jeffrey Hunt (Maryana), Tracy Stancil, Andrew Stancil (Abby), Jason Bagwell (Gretchen), Henry Bagwell and Preston Allen. He is also survived by nine great – nieces and great – nephews.
