He was predeceased by: his parents, William Thurman Sykes and Thelma Stapleton. He is survived by: his wife Frances Mann Sykes; his children, Ada Hunley (Charles) of Lawndale, Marlena Duncan, Natasha McAlpin, Natalie McAlpin of Newton, Nichole McAlpin of Claremont and James McAlpin of Newton, Several; and his sister Seventeen. He is also survived by Several Stepchildren Six brothers.
