He was predeceased by: his son Danny Lynn Blackburn; and his sisters, Nellie Propst, Mary Rose and Alice Aldridge. He is survived by: his wife Anita Wright Hartsoe of Newton; his children, Sandra Mecimore (Tim) of Hiddenite, Timothy H. Hartsoe of Shelby, David Blackburn (Cathy) of Lincolnton, Ray Blackburn of Newton, Billy Blackburn of Gastonia, Tammie McFarland of Conover, James Blackburn of Conover and Wayne Blackburn of Morganton; his brother Roy Hartsoe of Conover; and also Doris Hildebran of Hickory. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
