He was predeceased by: his mother Margie Barker Auton; and his former wife Betty Robinson. He is survived by: his wife Janet Workman; his daughter Ramona Shook of Hickory; his stepchildren, Andrea Kurczi of Catawba, Melinda McKinzie (Alan) of Louisville, KY. and Charles Ondrick (Uria) of Ascension Island; his brother Dan Auton of Dallas, TX; his stepsister Patricia Keener of Maiden; his grandchildren, Melissa Killian and Joey Shook (Michelle); his stepgrandson Aaron Kurczi; and his great grandchildren, Jaylin Lineberger, Carlos Berroa, Ashton Killian, Miranda Shook and Bethany Shook.
