She is survived by: her children, Floyd Powell of Hickory, Troy Powell of Conover, Joe Powell of Conover, Russell Powell of Conover, Robert Powell of Conover, Freddy Powell of Conover, Shirley Clark (Pearl Smith), Cathy Powell of Newton, Shelia Powell of Hickory and Marie Powell (Jackie Shuford); her nephew Cort Deer of Statesville; and her nieces, Delia Deer McGill of Newton, Lillian Deer of Maiden and Zula Baker Johnson of Newton. She is also survived by twenty-nine grandchildren, forty-six great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
