Sterling Michael Reed Obituary

We are sad to announce that on October 13, 2024, at the age of 79, Sterling Michael Reed of Newton, North Carolina, born in Catawba, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Sterling Pinkney Reed and Vernice Fry Reed; his wife Barbara Grant Reed; his brothers, Steve and Larry Reed; and his sisters-in-law, Connie Whittington, Jimmie-Kaye Majors and Patricia Gilliland.

He is survived by: his children, Deron Bumgarner (Jennifer) of Newton, Andrea Walshak (Erik) of Newton and Allison Keisler (Kristin Murphy) of Winston-Salem; his sisters-in-law, Joyce Reed of Charlotte and Susan Reed of Hickory; his grandchildren, Annie Goodwin (Michael), Evan, Leah, John Walshak, Emily, Diana Bumgarner, Caitlyn, Noah, Gabriel and Avery Keisler; and also, Norman Bumgarner of Newton and Martha Martin of Newton.
