It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Abernethy Hinson of Newton, North Carolina, born in Catawba, North Carolina, who passed away on April 7, 2021, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her father Olin Abernethy; her grandmother Caldwell Abernethy; and her daughters, Debbie Sauvageau of Newton and Brenda Huffman of Conover.
