He is survived by: his former wife Ilona Schumacher; his wife Boonchoo Black; his son Curt Schroeter (Bethel Canterbury) of Hickory; his stepchildren, Angele Gruber of Florida and Dennis Black of Florida; his sister Erika Scherr of Germany; his grandsons, James and Cody; his nieces, Martina and Karola; his nephew Alexander; his great-niece Lisa Di Lella; and his grandson Nathaniel Schroeter.
