He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Howard Horton and Lassie Truelove Horton; his former wife Martha Rae Hill Horton; his brother Steve Horton (Patsy Berry); and his granddaughter Monica Horton.
He is survived by: his wife Stella Brooks-Horton; his children, Danny L. Horton of Hickory, Rita Sain (Benny) of Hildebran, David Keith Horton (Connie) of Murrells Inlet, SC and Robert Ray Horton of Connelly Springs; and his sister Diann Bolick (Alan) of Canton. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
