With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Rebecca Jean Jenkins of Newton, North Carolina, born in Catawba, North Carolina, who passed away on May 25, 2021 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Bill Elmore and Lovie Mabel Kale; her son-in-law William Walker; her brother Billy Elmore; and her son Tommy Wayne Smith.
She is survived by: her husband Calvin Z. Jenkins; her children, Tammy Walker of Conover, Sandra Phillips (Wes) of Cornelius, Tim Smith of Newton and Tony Jenkins (Karen) of Lincolnton; her siblings, Kenny Kale of Maiden, Coleen Ward of Claremont and Barbara McCall (Joe) of Missouri; her grandchildren, Christopher Walker (Anna), Matthew Smith, Daniel Jenkins, Tiffany Smith, Kasey Gaddy and Hannah Jenkins; and her great grandchildren, Cameron Smith, Ellie Walker, Emmalyn Walker, Leila Walker, Allyssa Smith and Madeleine Gaddy.
Memorials may be made to Concordia Lutheran School in Conover.
