He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Teague and Pauline Teague; his wife Thelma Abernathy Teague; his son Michael Scott Teague; and his brothers, John Teague and Eugene Teague.

He is survived by: his daughters, Debra T. Spencer (Kevin) of Conover and Robin T. Bumgarner (Gary) of Newton; his grandchildren, Brandy Cline (Jeff) of Ocean Isle, Kasey Savage (Tim) of Wake Forest, Chris Spencer (Emily) of Sherrills Ford and Ryan Spencer of Conover; and his great grandchildren, Cole Cline, Jay Cline, Connor Cline of Ocean Isle, Barrett of Sherrills Ford, James Spencer of Sherrills Ford, Charlie, George Spencer of Conover, Collins Spencer of Sherrills Ford, Grace and Ellie Savage of Wake Forest.
