He was predeceased by: his grandparents, William Murphy Sr. (Pauline Murphy) and Margaret Setzer; and his uncle Wayne Murphy. He is survived by: his parents, William Dutton Murphy Jr. (Peggy) of Taylorsville and Debbie Stamey McCurry (Mike) of Morganton; his sisters, Jennifer Guerra-Lang (Billy) of Iron Station and Nicole McCurry of Asheville; his stepsiblings, Todd Simerly (Amanda), Jamie Simerly (Nicole) of Taylorsville and Tammy Trent (Kenny) of Taylorsville; and his niece Sophie Lang of Iron Station. He is also survived by aunts, cousins, step-nieces, and nephews.
