He is survived by: his mother Nettie Benfield of Hickory; his sons, Gaven Benfield and Joshua Benfield of San Diego, California; his granddaughter Hedi Benfield of Nevada; his siblings, Michael Benfield (Elaine) of Newton, Rex Benfield (Jill) of Hickory, Marie Fedukovich of Newton and Maxine Pearson of Lenoir; his stepdaughters, Cierra Buchanan and Harley Bumgarner; his uncle Ken Jolly of Hildebran; his son Zachary Benfield; and his nephew Michael Sparks. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
