He was predeceased by: his parents, William Ballew and Eula Hedrick Ballew; his former wives, Ola Mae Bean Ballew and Joyce Shook Ballew; his wife Betty Huffman Ballew; his stepdaughter Patricia Huffman Gentry; and his siblings, Harold, James Ballew and Joyce Michaels.
He is survived by: his brothers, Larry Ballew of Claremont and Eddie Ballew of Claremont.
