He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Garner and Bonnie Cornwell Garner; and his brothers, Bill, Jack and Max.
He is survived by: his wife Sherry Porter Garner; his children, Michael Garner (Paige) of Lincolnton, Chris Garner of Lincolnton and Donna Noles (Michael) of Lincolnton; and his grandchildren, Chase Garner (Sarah), Elizabeth Noles, Ainsley Noles, Cole Hefner and German Shepard.
