He was predeceased by: his parents, Woodrow Sylvanis Hartsoe and Elvera Setzer Hartsoe; his nephew Derek Huffman; and his niece Tammy Saunders. He is survived by: his wife Glenna Sigmon Hartsoe; his children, Paege Hartsoe Abernathy (Clayton), Amy Hicks Scaer (Tim) and J. Kelly Hicks (Lisa); his grandchildren, Jessica Abernathy Ledford (Brandon), Caleb Welch (Brianna), Samantha Scaer (Sammi), Megan Hicks Woods (Michael) and Katey Hicks; and his great grandchildren, Hazel June Ledford, Everleigh Joy Welch and Everette Myles Woods.
In Honor of Lanny's love for "Happy" socks, the family asked that you bring a new pair for donation to a charity of their choice. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Old St. Paul's Lutheran Church General Fund, 2035 Old Conover-Startown Road, Newton, NC 28658.
