Kathy Gail Brooks Miller Obituary

Kathy Gail Brooks Miller, 73, of Newton passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Catawba Valley Medical Center.

She was born January 1, 1950 to the late George and Virginia Carter Brooks. Kathy was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Startown and retired from Hickory Chair after many years of service. She enjoyed painting, spending time with her family and friends and her dog, Rocko. Her children and grandchildren were her everything. Kathy and her sister, Barbara were the very best of friends and she cherished the time they spent together. She also had some very special friends for many years that were like her second family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Carter and Elaine Brooks; and brother-in-law, Carroll Sigmon.

Those left to cherish her memory are;Son: Chad Miller of Newton.

Daughter: Haley Yount and husband Jason of Claremont.

Father of her children: Earshel Miller of Abingdon, VA.

Brother: Mike Brooks and wife Jean of Holly Hill, SC.

Sister: Barbara Sigmon of Newton.

Grandchildren: Valerie Miller, Madison Miller, Hunter Miller, and Ashley Yount.

Special Nieces: Stephanie Heavner and family, Jennifer Barr and family Susan Huffman and family Tammy Brooks and family Shelley Westbury and family.

Special Nephew: Josh Brooks and family, A memorial service to celebrate Kathy's life will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bennett Funeral Service, 7878 NC Hwy 16, Newton. Rev. Tommy Young will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 to 2:45 p.m. at Bennett Funeral Service.
