It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joyce Yount Poovey of Newton, North Carolina, born in Cleveland, North Carolina, who passed away on July 17, 2023, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. Robert Walter Yount and Ima Jean Newton Yount. She is survived by: her husband Paul Pinkney Poovey, Jr.; her daughters, Holly Ann Poovey Lowrance (Jason) of Newton and Leah Joy Poovey Fleming (Matt) of Charlotte; her siblings, Gary Yount of China Grove and Barbara Yount Beaver (Jerry) of Salisbury; her grandchildren, Jessa Lowrance, Owen Lowrance, Emerson Fleming and Saylor Fleming; and her pet Bodi Trout Fleming.
