He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis Ramsey and Flavia Chapman Ramsey; his wife Peggy Ruth Leatherman Ramsey; and his brothers, Lee Ramsey, Joseph Ramsey, Millard Ramsey and Fredrick Ramsey.
He is survived by: his daughters, Ramona Ramsey and Renee Ramsey Carpenter (Larry) of Lincolnton; his grandchildren, Carrie Carpenter Leatherman (Clay) and Clinton Carpenter; his great grandchildren, Seth Hartman and Emma Carpenter; his siblings, Geneva Bradshaw of Lawndale, Jack Ramsey, Jeanette Chapman (Fred), Don Ramsey, Geraldine Lail of Morganton, Bill Ramsey of Nebo and Marlene Cooper (Jonas) of Valdese; and his sisters-in-law, Ruby Ramsey, Christine Davis and Betty Leatherman.
