It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan Theresa Coleman Barnhill of Newton, North Carolina, born in Washington, District of Columbia, who passed away on May 1, 2023, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Coleman and Doris Johnson Coleman; her husband Alton James Barnhill, Jr. (Jim); her brother Duke Coleman; and her niece Jenny Janes.
She is survived by: her children, John Noel Barnhill (Connie), Kevin Lee Barnhill (Jennifer) and Caryl Ann Canella (Curtis); her grandchildren, Alex, Ben, Nick, Christopher, Connor Barnhill, Grace and Ross Canella; her great grandchildren, Nalani Cooper and Madix Barnhill; her brother Gene Coleman (Delores); her sister-in-law Lin Coleman; her niece Shelly Coleman; and her nephew Tom Coleman.
