He is survived by: his parent Ava Hefner Lutz; his wife Linda Bogle Lutz; his daughter Lynn Lutz Surratte (Michael Surratte) of Newton; his grandsons, Aaron Surratte (Julianne) of Sherrills Ford and Matthew Surratte (Shannon) of Newton; his great grandchildren, Beau, Kelsey Grace and Abel Surratte; his sisters, Martha Barnette (Charles) of Conover and Doris Lutz of Hickory; and his nieces and nephews, Nelson Lutz (Gina) of Newton, Ryan, Josh, Alesia Boggs of Hickory, Michelle Kirby of Hickory, Lori Kirby of Hickory and Larissa Kirby of Hickory. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
