He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Buchanan and Elma Buchanan; his wife Rita Buchanan; his son Kevin Buchanan; his sisters, Florine Buchanan and Mae Pittman; his granddaughter Darragh McNeill; and his siblings, Harry Buchanan, Janice Hall and Glenda "Toots" Lominac.
He is survived by: his children, Mark Buchanan (Loretta), Jody Buchanan (Debra), Kimberly Schwab and Beth Buchanan Shook; his grandchildren, Luke Davis (Mallory), Olivia Hilton (Brad), Sophie, Alayna, Matthew, Kassidy, Madison and John Thomas; his great grandchildren, Gaines, Eisley, Parks, Chloe, Evelyn, Graham, Trystan, Trace, Aurora, Jack, Juniper, Alastor and Eleanor; and his sisters, Judy Beard and Vickie Wood (Rick).
