It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Howard Kenneth Simmons of Newton, North Carolina, born in Catawba, North Carolina, who passed away on September 1, 2020, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard J. Simmons and Mary "Neva" Sigmon Simmons Wellborn; his son-in-law Chuck Boston; his half-brother Ted Wellborn; his stepfather Fred Wellborn; and his sister-in-law Nancy Simmons.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia Ann Jones Simmons; and his son Gregory Simmons.
