He is survived by: his brother Eugene McCorkle (Florence) of Newton; his nieces and nephews, Diana Baker of Claremont, NC, Yolanda Hendrix (Brian) of Claremont, NC, Derrick Carson (Ittiely) of Hickory and Calvin Hill of Hickory; his stepchildren, Dorothy Gaither of Hickory, Shirley Gaither Stanford of Hickory, Allen Gaither of Hickory and James Gaither of Hickory; and his stepgrandchildren, Kandi Johnson, Tasha Houpe, Tywanna Stanford, John Carson Jr., Lori Steele, Colette Steele Alicia Slaughter, Carlos Lutz, Kenya Walton and Dylan Lutz. He is also survived by great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
