He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Grady Ledford and Sarah Smith Ledford; his son Harold Dean Ledford Jr.; his grandchildren, Matthew Bernard Potter and Emily Diana Potter; and his siblings, Betty Jo Ledford, Maxine Dickinson, Arlene Parsons, Rita Lutz, Galen Ledford and J. P. Ledford (Bud).
He is survived by: his children, Gay Dorsey (Bill) of Vale, Debra Moody of Granite Falls, Shirley Ledford of Mocksville, Sarah Potter (Donnie) of Granite Falls and Jim Ledford (Kim) of Granite Falls; and his siblings, Charlotte Cook of Hickory, Eula Hefner of Hickory, Brenda Sluder of Vale and E. G. Ledford (Samp) of Hickory. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
