He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Pinkney Auton and Maude Ingle Auton; and his siblings, Burgin Auton, Ralph Auton, Robert A. Auton (Hoot), William K. Auton (Dood), Carrol Auton, Maezelle Walls, Ethel Scronce (Tis) and Ima Jean Carter (Monk).

He is survived by: his wife Linda Toney Auton; his pet Missy; and his sisters, Frances Peeler (Polly) of Newton, Barbara Stallings (Dwight) of Vale and Linda Stallings (Steve) of Vale.
