He was predeceased by: his father Hamilton Armstead Slate, Sr.; and his siblings, George Robert Slate and June Merie Slate Campo. He is survived by: his wife Jean Long Slate; his daughter Angela Slate Mirovsky (Tony) of Newton; his grandchildren, Cole Slate Mirovsky, Cora Ann Mirovsky and Connor Anthony Mirovsky; and his sister Betsy Slate Smothers (Billy) of Birmingham, Alabama. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
