He was predeceased by: his siblings, Roy Fox and Mae; his brother-in-law Harlee Dagenhart; his sister Rava Nell Wike; his brother-in-law Glenn Hathcock; and his parents-in-law, Frank and Phebie Speagle.

He is survived by: his wife Peggy Speagle Fox; his son Bruce Edward Fox (Tonya Webb Fox); his grandchildren, Bryson Edward Fox and Shelby Dawn Fox of Hickory; his sister Phyllis; his brother-in-law Richard Mills of Charlotte; his sister Louise Hathcock of Hickory; his siblings-in-law, Helen Fox (Dot Denniston) of Taylorsville and James Wike of Stoney Point; and his extended family, Glenda, David Humphreys of Conover, Dennis, Linda Webb of Ohio and Crystal Webb of Wilmington.
