He was predeceased by: his wife Rachel Weaver Cloninger; and his brothers, Adrian Cloninger and Lamar Cloninger. He is survived by: his children, Steve Cloninger (Katie) of Conover, Bruce Cloninger (Michelle) of Conover and Linda Baird (David) of Hickory; his grandchildren, Jason Cloninger, Elizabeth Newsom, David Cloninger, Jennifer Cloninger Pitts, Rachel Walker and Rebecca Walker; his great grandchild Loralei Howell; his sister-in-law Becky Cloninger of Newton; his nephew Jerry Cloninger (Debbie); and his great-nephew John of San Clemente, CA..
