He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Day and Rosa Edwards Day; his wife Marsha Day; and his siblings, Leon Day and Mary Ann Fox.
He is survived by: his children, Jason Day (Courtney), Lee Strange (Jillian), Diana Padgett (John) and Mary Moore (Wayne); and his siblings, James Day (Wilma), LeeRoy Day and Brenda Justus (Gary). He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
