He was predeceased by: his father Stevie Whitener. He is survived by: his mother Donna McKinley of Newton; his siblings, Kara Whitener of Waynesville, Chris Whitener of Newton, Matt Whitener of Newton, Elijah Whitener of Waynesville and Isaiah Whitener of Hickory; his grandmother Annie Mae Barnes of Maiden; and his great-grandparent Dorothy Whitener of Maiden. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and a ton of friends.

His family is asking for donations to help with the unexpected funeral costs.
