She was predeceased by: her parents, Pinkney Eli Poovey and Myrtle Marie Poovey; her husband Norman Whitener; and her siblings, Willie Alice Bumgarner, Faye Brietzman, Rose Lynn, Jo Ann Smith Rohrbacher and Sam Poovey.
She is survived by: her children, Tim Whitener (Jane), Bud Whitener (Robin) and Susan McClure (Jon); her grandchildren, David, Stephen Whitener, Eric McClure, Lauren Bond, Daniel Whitener, Spencer Kilby and Grace Kilby; her great grandchildren, Kristen, Devin, Ames and Luna; her siblings, Carol Crouch (Jim), Wayne Poovey (Janice), Howard "Bud" Poovey, Paul Poovey and Roy Poovey; and also Jo Setzer.
