He was predeceased by: his parents, George David Cranford and Mary Ella Sims Cranford; and his brothers, William Cranford, Carl Cranford and Carroll Eugene Cranford.

He is survived by: his wife Martha Reinhardt Cranford; and his daughter Cathy Cranford Wireman (Dudley) of Spotsylvania, VA..
