David Edward Eidson Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of David Edward Eidson (Newton, North Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 30, 2025 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Isaac Clarence and Hazel Eidson; his wife Wally McHargue Eidson; his children, Keith and Tricia Eidson; his brother Donald Eidson; and his close friend Edna Lane.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Jessica Criswell (Chastain) of Gastonia, Taylor Matthews (Michael) of Walnut Cove and Patrick Eidson (Jordan) of Conover; his great grandchildren, Madison Criswell, Luke Eidson, Miller and Hazel Matthews; his sisters, Peggy Gardner and Lorraine White; his close friend Geneva Barlowe; and his granddaughter Tricia.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Celebration Center of Jenkins Funeral Home (4081 Startown Rd, Newton, NC 28658). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel (4081 Startown Rd, Newton, NC 28658). A graveside service was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Rose Chapel United Methodist Church.
