He is survived by: his child Midas Muffler; his wife Billie Shrum; his siblings, Pete Shrum (Rubie) and Barbara Huffstetler (Whitey); and his children, Dan, Daphne, Shannon, Richard (Susan), Kay Gilbert and Clair Rose. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
