He is survived by: his mother Mary Helen Lackey of Newton, NC; his wife Dorothy McCorkle Lackey; his nephews, Tarji Lackey and Diounte Gibson; his children, Marlene Lackey (Dean Byrd) of Newton, NC, Wayne McCorkle (Krista) of Hickory, NC and Charisia Bumgarner (Raymond) of Hickory, NC; his grandchildren, Aaron Lackey, Brittany Lackey, Xavier Lackey, Preston Bumgarner and Marissa Bumgarner; his great grandchildren, Jamir Lackey, Zion Lackey and Kasey Lackey; his siblings, Robert Lackey (Jacqueline) of Conover, NC, George Lackey of Newton, NC, Helen Connelly of Conover, NC and Gail Lackey (David McCorkle) of Newton, NC; and his close friends, Jerry Parsons, Milton Hunter and Laddie Ford. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many other relatives, and friends.
