He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilburt Strickland and Lousie Strickland; his former wife Norma Ann Strickland; his wife Edna Westbrook Strickland; his daughter Patricia Strickland Palama; his granddaughter Lynn Marie Strickland; and his sisters, Catherine Strickland, Ann Lee, Margaret Coates and Ette Mae Leber.
He is survived by: his sons, Jerry Rudolph Strickland (Jackie Mahle) of Dunn and Hugh Craig Strickland (Donna) of Dunn; his sister Shelby Jean Denning of Dunn; his stepdaughter Rose Anderson (Ray) of Newton Grove; and his close friend Martha S. Taylor of Newton Grove. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild.
