She was predeceased by: her father Grover Hood; her son John Wayne Bennett; and her siblings, Durwood Hood, Gordon Hood, Joe Dan Hood, Jean Hood, James Hood, Horace Hood, Elizabeth Smith and Agnes Harrell.

She is survived by: her sons, David Allen Bennett (Sue) of Goldsboro, Clark Hood Bennett of Goldsboro, Reed Owen Bennett of Goldsboro and Jack Rose Bennett (Nanette) of Newport, NC; and her brother Manfred Hood (Delores).
