He was predeceased by: his parents, Rodney Sutton and Ophelia Strickland Sutton; his wife Romell Sutton; his children, Jimmy Sutton, Claxton Sutton and Brenda Thornton; his brothers, Horace Sutton and Rodney Sutton, Jr.; and his grandsons, Jamie Sutton, Chad Sutton and Rodney Cox.
He is survived by: his children, Marion "Mac" Sutton, Kay Fields and Margaret Sue Sutton; his caregiver Cynthia Smith; and his brother Ralph Sutton (Joan). He is also survived by six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Dunn Funeral Home, Inc. (503 Raleigh St, Newton Grove, NC 28366). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location. An entombment was held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Hillcrest Cemetery.
