She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Baker and Vinnie Thornton Baker; and her siblings, Corneva Wiggins and Bobby Baker. She is survived by: her daughters, Joy D. Pate (Walter) and Patty D. Best (Waite, Jr.); her grandchildren, Paige Leigh Best (Shelby) and Shane Pate (Carla); her great grandchildren, Dylan Pate and Dawson Pate; and her sisters-in-law, Peggy Denning, Luna Tadlock and Alice Allen. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to WAGES Meals on Wheels, 601 Royall Avenue, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
