He is survived by: his wife Jane Hobbs Herring; his sons, Ricky Lee Herring of Newton Grove and Alan Gregory Herring of Newton Grove; his niece Melissa Buckner Wayne (Greg); his siblings, William Thomas "Billy" Herring, Gayle H. Warren, Mary Porter (Nelson), Joanne H. Askew, Gary Herring (Lydia) and Barbara Herring; his grandchildren, Calan Faulkner (Jeremy), Anna Byrd (Cameron), Alan "Gregory" Herring, II (Kristen), Johnnie K. Herring (Casey) and Lexie Grace Herring; his great grandchildren, Kallie Brooke, Jaxson Blake Herring, David "Lane", Mills Faulkner, Lincoln Rhett Herring and Frances Jane Byrd; his sisters-in-law, Patty Herring, Ann Herring and Lynette Hobbs Harrell (Robert); and also Junior. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
