She was predeceased by: her parents, James Hoopengardner and Wava Hoopengardner; her son James L. Shoemaker; and her siblings, Patricia Hawvermale, Gary Hoopengardner and Richard Hoopengardner.
She is survived by: her husband Ted Garner Jr.; her children, Michael E. Bonkosky (Laura) of Greenville, N. C., Melissa G. Taylor of Newport, N. C., Rhonda S. Sensenich of Morehead City, N. C., Lisa L. Garner (Stephen Buck) of Morehead City, N. C and Jeff G. Garner (Stephanie); her siblings, Louise J. Joy of Hagerstown, MD., James Hoopengardner of Berkeley Springs, W. V. and David Hoopengardner (Kathy) of Elysburg, PA.; her grandchildren, Joshua A. Wood (Miranda) of Tip City, OH., Brittney S. O'Neill (Johnathan) of Clarksville, TN., Makayla R. Ford (Jameson) of Havelock, N. C., Corey B. Diffee (Claire) of Newport, N. C., Hunter J. Garner of Morehead City, N. C., Christian M. Garner of Morehead City, N. C. and Ella G. Garner of Morehead City, N. C.; and her great grandchildren, Ashton G. Sensenich, Isla E. O'Neil, Elizabeth A. Wood and Briar J. Ford.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the First Methodist Church (900 Arendell St, Morehead City, NC 28557). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at the Bayview Cemetery.
