We bid farewell to Oscar Wagoner Sr. of Newport, North Carolina, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on November 11, 2024 at the age of 61. Oscar touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. As we bid adieu to Oscar's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in his wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Oscar has bequeathed us. For though he may have departed from our sight, his spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Garfield Wagoner and Edna Wagoner; his wife Debra Wagoner; and his son Willie Wayne Wagoner. He is survived by: his children, Tabitha Taylor (Kenneth) of Newport and Oscar Wayne Wagoner Jr. (Crystal Glass) of Newport; and his siblings, Randy Wagoner (Janet) of North Wilkesboro, Mary Royal (Johnny) of North Wilkesboro, Bonnie Brown (Dickie) of North Wilkesboro and Geneva Wagoner (Timmy) of North Wilkesboro. He is also survived by six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Broad Creek Church of God (394 Broad Creek Loop Rd, Newport, NC 28570). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
