He is survived by: his wife Diane Simmons of Newport; his sons, Daniel Simmons (Sarah) of Morehead City, Michael Simmons of Monroe, David Simmons (Shannon) of Newport and Nathan Simmons of Newport; and his mother Gail Portor of Newport. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
