He is survived by: his wife Lynn Kelly of Newport; his children, Brian Kelly (Britni Simmons) and Isla Grace Kelly of Clayton; his brother Allen; his sister-in-law Joan Kelly of Raleigh; his sister Frances Corbett of Newport; his sister-in-law Pat Kelly of Newport; his nieces, Tammy Kelly (Freddie Harris) and Melissa Kelly Nielsen; his nephew Todd Kelly (Sherry Kelly) of Newport; his great-nephew Travis Kelly (Blayke Kelly); his brother-in-law Victor Reynolds of Morehead City; his stepson John Yates (Ashley Yates); his stepgranddaughters, Katlyn Yates and Emmy Chase; his nephew Allen Moody; his nieces, Kim Moody and Lorrie Henry (Mike Henry); and his friends, Cherry Point, Robert, Beverly Evans of Maysville, Tammy Carter, Brian Holt, Ricky, Diane Johnson, Charles and Susan Long.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Crystal Coast Hospice House of Newport or towards organizations supporting dementia and Alzheimer's research.
