We are sad to announce that on September 22, 2023, at the age of 89, Alice Deanne Gurganus of Newport, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Quinn and Lula Quinn; her brother Lionel Quinn; her son-in-law Charles Pake; her brothers-in-law, Kenneth Skinner and Richard Bush; and her parents-in-law, Hilton and Pattie Mae Gurganus.
She is survived by: her husband James; her daughters, Norma Grant (Terry) of Newport, Dorla Pake of Emerald Isle, Christine "Chris" Ricks (Danny) of Newport and Kathy Buttery (Jerry) of Newport; her siblings, Alstine Quinn Skinner and Ethel Bush; her grandchildren, Lucy Jackson (Jason Hill), Hillary Dewaratanawanich (Terry), Trey Ricks, Kelsey Pope (Chandler), Chase Pake (Frances), Madison Pake (Zack Sowers), Kaley Buttrey (Kade Ciraulo) and Kara Buttrey (Nathan Windley); her great grandchildren, Adelaide, Liam, Kinsley, Blair, Peyton, Zoey and Sophia; and her caregivers, Evelyn Eidell and Sharon Nelson. She is also survived by her family and many friends.
