He was predeceased by: his parents, Plez Banner and Carmel Kincaid Banner; and his siblings, Lois Banner, Samuel Banner, Clarence Banner, David Banner and Dallas Banner.

He is survived by: his son Randy Banner (Becky) of Newland, NC; and his siblings, Dorothy Parlier (Mac) of Beech Mountain, NC, Don Banner (Doris) of Maiden, NC and Gary Banner (Donna) of Newland, NC.

The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Amorem Hospice of the High Country, 902 Kirkwood St NW, Lenoir, NC 28645.

“I was a NC State Trooper stationed in Lincoln County. So sorry to hear of Plez’s passing. My prayers for the family. I always looked forward to Plez coming to Lincoln County during Christmas . We told many stories in that Christmas Tree lot. True or not those stories were a lot of fun. He is missed I am sure. I considered Plez a friend. Bill Johnson”
