She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Davis and Kathleen Tucker Davis; her husband A. J. Buchanan; the fathers of children, Ivan Whitson and Fin Caraway; and her brother Tommy Tucker Davis.
She is survived by: her children, Roma Bennett (Kenneth) of Spruce Pine and Martin Delaney Buchanan of Newland; her adoptive daughters, Jennifer Ollis of Roan Mountain, TN and Jessica Benfield of Elk Park; her grandchildren, Michael, Brooke, Cortney, Christian and Ava; her great grandchildren, Stella and Aspen; her sister Wanda Lee Stough (Melvin Goree) of Newland; her siblings-in-law, Dale Buchanan of Lincolnton, Willa Davis of Buck Mountain and Virginia Keaton of Valdese; her niece DeDe Willis; her cousin Geraldine Woody; and her best traveling buddy Sabrina Briggs. She is also survived by foster parent and had a deep love for the foster children who became her family.
